a sylvan holt:
unseen 'mid dusky velvet shade,
dapples of jade
appear when morning's hands light on the bolt;
myrrh, flaxen, falls in tressed cascade.

hallowing, heard,
I, yielding heart afresh to Thee,
I, toiling, see
embedded riches gleaming from Thy Word:
Thine ardent answer to my plea.

sounding out the wonder
of how the Holy Spirit makes
perspicuous the Word of God
